Fog Lamp Replacement Ideas?

Postby ColoradoPeople » Wed Nov 04, 2009 8:07 am

So, I took my PF in for an oil change yesterday and noticed somewhere between my house and the dealer my passenger side fog lamp lens exploded from a rock. Since Nissan does not sell the lens only, you have to buy the entire thing for $109!

I've never been overly impressed with them to begin with, so I wanted to see if anyone has thrown in some aftermarket driving or fog lights in their place, and to see what style or brand people recommend?

I ended up just removing the entire thing which was a snap! Just remove the 3 splash guard screws, peel back the splash guard, then use a 10mm socket to remove the top fog lamp housing screws, and a flat blade screw driver to pop off the clip and the whole thing comes out. Easy 10 minute removal.

So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have seen a local Frontier with PIAA 510 fog in factory fog location. They were sticking out more than factory fogs (might be due to how this person chose to install them), but they looked pretty nice.

Of course, a pair of PIAA fogs costs you more than just replacing one factory fog...

Thank you for the input guys. Yeah... saw the PIAA set up. Lots of money for them. I found a few aftermarket set up's that put out better light patterns and distance than stock for about $50 a pair. I appreciate all of your input! Thanks-Dave

This mod worked really well, and might be something you'd be interested in.

i put 4300k HID lights in my fog housings. it only cost 50 bucks and they look amazing. they light up the road very well and they dont get in anyone's eyes since there so low. i think it was the best bang for the buck
