V8 Pathfinder

Postby RadsMD » Fri Feb 19, 2010 9:12 am

Planning to order a 2010 V8 LE model when "the ordering window is open". Dealer says under 40K.

How is the V8 compare to the V6 and other competitors? Low MPG is of no concern.

I just bought a 2010 V6 a few weeks ago. Love it so far

I think the V6 offers plenty of power, but I have heard that the V8 is a hot rod.

I believe the V6's housepower and torque is above the major competitors. Explorer/ 4runner.

I Drive mine on the highway daily and have no trouble passing and merging, the thing can haul, can't imagine what the V8 is like, but it should be fun. This car holds the road well at high speeds (80.. 90.. 100mph)

Another option: I saw a video on youtube where they Supercharged a V6

I just purchased my 08 V8 Pathfinder LE 4X4(New) a couple of weeks ago. Drove it from S. Carolina to Nevada (home). Love it. Its loaded, Nav., Bose MusicBox, Leather. Did have a few squeaks and rattles, the roads back east are terrible for pot holes compared to Nevada, but I'm fixing them as I go. Fuel mileage is not bad for a V8, we averaged 17.8 mpgs for 2900 miles. Took it to for a ride to Elko(225 miles), averaged +19 mpg. I drive about 70-75 mph with short bursts of up to 100mph, passing. And yes it is very quick. I also have a Mazda Speed3 to compare it to. The Pathfinder may not take it on a dead stop take off, but it would be really close on a rolling start. Too bad you would'nt of been in the market a coulpe of weeks ago, that S. Carolina dealership had 4 V8 Pathfinders, all of them new 08's. picked mine up for $27803.00 plus tax, lic.,and doc fees. It factory stickered for $43980.00. You'll love it Good Luck.

Thats why we figured it was worth the price of an airline ticket to fly there and drive it home to Nevada. Dealership is in Rock Hill, S.C. They only have 2 08 Xterra 2X4's left, the Pathfinder's went fast, excuse the pun.

Looks like South Carolina is the place to be for Pathy's. Just got my used '08 LE V8 for $23. The thing is ridiculous!!!! So fast and so powerful. You won't be disappointed in the available power or the handeling. I test drove several V6's and was content with getting one because of the towing capacity and it was plenty of power for me. Getting behind the V8 feels totally different...like a bigger SUV. It is AWESOME!

They must be desperate to get rid of them, they're practically giving them away. 8)
