Installing Airlift 1000's (how to)

Postby gilldawg79 » Tue Apr 13, 2010 8:01 pm

Anybody have any good tips on installing the AirLift 1000's? I am planning on installing some in about a week or two and would like to know if there are any tips as to getting them in the spring.

Actually, the ones I ordered only came with 2 protectors. The manual shows four. I called airlift and they said they are only shipping 2 now.
He said you only need to install them on the valve stem end of the bladder. The instructions also talk about having to trim something back for the the valve to fit in there......

Just looking for advice.

Thanks!!!

And thanks again for all the help on the tranny issue.

run lines so they don't get pinched.

It's really pretty easy, and installation is largely dependent on where you want to locate the valve stems. My airlifts only came with two protectors, placed at the top of the airbag near the stem.

One tip, jack up the rear of the vehicle to extend the springs and make it easier to fit the compressed bag through. On installing the air lines, in addition to avoiding pinch points, leave enough slack to allow for suspension travel.
