Wheelbearing

Postby matthewbaggs » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:22 am

Hi Guys,

I have just bought myself a Pathfinder. And i need a new front wheel bearing... apparently they only come as a whole front hub assembly. Is this true?? as if it is its going to cost me a lot of money

any help would be great.

P.s i am from England!!

I t does appear that way. This is not uncommon nowadays. It's the same on the wife's car (325i). At least on her's the rears are replaceable, doesn't appear to be the case here as the it's the full hub assembly in the rear as well.

Does save us DIY'rs the trouble of have them pressed in, but it is a much higher cost. Here in the US using Courtesy Nissan as a baseline, the front hub assembly is $139US. The bearing alone would probably be about $50.

It is a hub with bearing assembly. Not too pricey if you get one thru Autozone, Advance, O"Reilly's, etc. Advance Auto Parts shows it for about $225.00
