Postby ajaynsx » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:38 pm

I have 2005 pathy that has dvd player, but it only plays store bought dvds and not copied dvd's is there any way to change that.

Its hard to say why its not working. Most likely the dvd player has a single configuration (NTSC or PAL). Newer players can read both. You can try burning them again with different parameters, try using better quality dvds, and/or burn them at much lower speeds.

First though try to determine about the video system in the player itself. Then go from there. GL.

A lot of the older DVD players, home or portable, will not play copied or writable DVD's. It's older technology.

Most of the current DVD players will let you play just about any format that there is out there(even DivX), but if yours is from 2005 you are most likely out of luck. I don't think that you can change anything on the actual player in order to watch burned movies.
