Best way to tap into my battery?

Postby techboy » Tue Nov 16, 2010 1:46 pm

Moving on to the next step on my 08 Pathfinder. Need to install a light bar and siren and radio. which involves needing 2 8 gauge wire connected directly to the battery.

Does anyone know the best way to tap into the battery? I noticed a couple of bolts under the protective cap, just wondering what will happen when I go to loosen them..

Anyone have any advice??

The chief thanks you in advance..

for my subs I just slipped a ring and cable under the nut and sandwiched it in.
had to cut the terminal cover so it would close again.
In the long run I plan to get an optima battery and a post with multple attachment points.

I would think with those, you might want to consider a heaver aftermarket battery. If you do keep in mind the multi-point terminal clamps.

Thanks for the reply, one question I had is when you loosen the nut, does the harness that seems to be underneath it running down the side of the battery loosen as well?
