I've been looking at 02-03 paths for over 6 weeks now.
Why, well because they are generally in my price range
and I've always loved them. And the Toy 4blabla owners
are smoking crack for the prices they are selling for.


I want it all, and well, not really finding it. Great condition,
around 100k and clean. I've been salivating over this gold
one for weeks now. It's frickin' loaded. just about every
option including all leather, 4x4 and stage 2 towing kit. Problem is it's
got 165k on it. Is that a problem? It's one owner, it's
immaculate inside and out. I mean perfect! Well, not perfect
it does have a 2 inch scuff on the corner of the left fron
bumber, but that's it.

Would you buy it?
What do you think?

If the owner can produce "on schedule" svc records, buy it!!!!!!!!!! I'm selling my 99 QX4 for $4k probably tonight and its got 230k miles and more wear than u describe. 165k is nothing. I've got another 99 Pathy that has 213k and I am the sort-of original owner in that it was my Dad's from new and it's mine now. Maintenance is key. I expect my Pathy to clear 300k no prob. Loaded Pathys with the 3.5 and QX4's all command good money here in florida. there are 21 Q's here for $4600 to $6500 all with 150 to 175k miles.

Yeah, that's the problem. A wholesaler has the vehicle now. The CarFax says 1 owner. I just keep thinking that if the interior is in such pristine condition, and the paint is perfect condition, it was garage kept most certainly, and well taken care of by "appearance" they must have cared about it's maintenance as well. But, that is a big assumption. I wish there was a way of finding out with the vin # some how. it's killing me. LOL

When i get a customers car that has a weak history of service, I take the VIN and call the dealers in the area and give it to them saying I'm a family member who is taking care of the vehicle for a extended time and if they have any records that indicate if it has need services due now.
Since you wouldn't be asking for information on the customer but potentially trying to spend money with their svc dept they are more than willing to check and recommend any mileage based svc's they don't have records of. And bonus. Most High-End Asian and European dealerships do not over recommend svc's to repeat vehicles as they are under stricter Brand Standards and internal brand auditing for svc quality.

I am in NJ and here too they demand a good $. Last month I bought my first Pathfinder. Really bought it for my son who will be driving next month, but I have to tell you, I have a 2012 car and offered him the car and I keep the truck. I love it. If it helps any I paid $8,000 for mine. It is an 04 LE edition. Loaded with everything including leather, power heated seats and sun roof and absolutely mint. Really, look brand new. It had 105,000 on it. Clean car fax with one owner, owner had just traded it in to our local Nissan dealer for a new Pathy. Lots of new maintenance items, such as new exhaust muffler system, breaks, $1000 worth of new tires, and a lot of other items replaced at maintenance intervals. Thus far, after purchase we had a trans flush and new platinum plugs put in and although it does not need it yet it will need a new oil pan, so we are having that done. The dealer had it at $11,000, but we knew the mechanic at the dealership so it helped. I think no matter how well maintained when buying an older vehicle you can almost expect to have put some money in after for maintenance. Some are lucky enough that they don't and others are mechanical enough to do it themselves. Through my search I have seen them sell much higher even with higher miles. One with 295,000 on it had 16 bids and last I checked was at almost 4 grand Se no leather. From what I have read, these older Pathfi ders when taken care of run forever. Our mechanic said I will easily get another 100,000 on mine. I hope it works out for you.

Last April I sold my 99 Infiniti QX4 3.3 for $3000 even. It had 239,000 miles and was in really good condition. It like 5 months to sell it but it just takes the right buyer. They (the cars) are everywhere. You have your choice of the litter.

i bought my 2001 with 140000 miles ,but it had a car fax with all the dealer repairs .they took it to the dealer for all its oil changes and factory recalls .

We bought our '01 QX4 with 194k for $3k about 6 weeks ago. Runs great after a front brake job, oil cooler o-rings, replacement MAF, belts, and a couple of other cheap DIY items. Still could use a new set of plugs and forward O2's, but that's about it.

i changed my plugs .not a bad job .just takes a little time.

I just bought an 01 SE after my wife destroyed my beloved 1999.5 SE Limited. I then stole my own salvaged leather seats and installed them, etc.

Paid only 2k for the well equipped 01 SE and it has 245k on it. Runs like a top. BUY THE CAR.
