96 Pathfinder SE...quick question for you guys

Postby ridepow » Wed Oct 24, 2012 7:26 am

Hello All,

Been lurking on here for pointers. Great info.

I picked up a 96 Pathy SE with 76k miles on it about 6 months ago and love this rig. Great for camp trips and I'm getting ready to drive it across the country for a winter in Tahoe, so I'll be putting the 4WD to work.

I drove home from a camping trip on Assateague Island yesterday and made a quick stop and noticed a fluid leak under the forward part of the engine. I checked it out and it seems to be water.

Any reason for concern?

Also, anyone have recommendations on some solid snow tires?

Cheers!

Welcome

Could be thermostat housing seal, a hose,water pump,radiator ????
Time to get to know your Pathy close up

ALL leaks need attention paid to them !

Thanks, The Rude1...

A friend of mine is going to help me take a look at things this weekend...he also pointed out I need to replace the valve covers.

I want to get this thing in the best shape I can and run it to 300k miles!

For thermostat dont try to be tricky

Rad,shroud, fan, belts not that hard to get off. Just get it all out of the way

And when taking off the hoses start from the bottom and work your way up. Just like the oldlady :D
