V8 1/8 mile time...

Postby Billy T. » Wed Apr 16, 2008 4:07 pm

Got bored sunday, took the PF to the local 1/8 mile. Only makde one pass. Was expecting something in the high 9s, maybe a 9.70...

Left at about 1500 rpm, VDC off, no wheel spin, clicked off a [email protected] mph... holy crap!

Was pretty surprised. I have an intake on it as the only mod. I think I can get this thing into the 8s with a harder launch and an exhaust.

Anway, thought it was pretty cool. I knew this thing felt quick, but wasn't expecting that at all. Depending on the top end, this should be a low 14 in the 1/4 mile.

This ain't a track story Billy, but a couple weeks ago I had a Mini buzzing alongside at a couple of lights, squealing tires and such. At the third light I nailed it and had him by about 10 lengths before he saw what happened and it took another bunch of lengths for him to catch up and scream off into the distance...top of that next hill though is usually a local speed trap. 8)

Haha Mini. :D

and with the stock suspension on this thing, I don't think I would feel real comfortable going that fast anyway. I think I have seen 90 in mine... it's just too softly sprung to go much faster in.

doh... i ask only cuz that V8 surges like there's no tomorrow above 80+mph... it's actually scared me twice how fast it was. i've had it at 105 once and backed off. i would think it could hit 130 or so w/ no problems but i'm not real willing to try, haha.
