Problem with rear heat/cooling

Postby evgenk » Tue Sep 17, 2013 8:43 pm

Hey guys, I have a weird problem with my rear hvac system. When I turn on either AC or heat to the rear I am not getting any air out of the vents.

As I increase the fan speed I can hear the air rushing faster in the back of the truck, yet still no air coming out of the vents themselves.

Front AC/heat works as it should.

Seems like an air duct got disconnected somewhere in the back. Any ideas on where do I start to troubleshoot this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

You might have a bad actuator on the rear heater unit. You have to pull off the back interior finisher to access the rear heater and check it out. Sometimes they'll stick, so before tearing things apart, try banging on the back panel with your hand a few times and see if it starts working.

Great idea! Will try that tomorrow morning. Which side of the vehicle would it be on?

Banging on the panels didn't help, so I guess I'll have to take it apart.

Will try to get to that this weekend... right after I replace my radiator, damn thing started leaking this week :-(

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll post back with results.
