while driving odometer flashes.

Postby Mike1333 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:42 pm

hey everyone, today i filled up my 06 and when i got in my truck the gauge wasnt working. I read about the fuel sending unit. Later in the day my wife drove the truck and the guage slowly made it s way back to full, but as she drove the odometer flashed to zero then 5 seconds later went back to normal. No check engine light came on when guage wouldn't go back to full either. Any ideas?

Sounds like the bad fuel sending unit. I'd take it to your local dealership and see what they say, but I think they will probably not do anything until the check engine light comes on.

There was a recall for the 2006 MY in regards to the sending unit. You might need to have the stored DTC to be qualified, however.

I had a check engine light when my sending unit went bad so your check engine light might eventually pop up. Nissan sells the sending unit separately but depending on your mileage it might be wise to replace the fuel pump while the tank is out.
