Hey, i have quite similar symptoms as written in the older posts in this topic.

Whenever i switch to reverse, weird rumble/vibration starts, even just standing in reverse and lasts until starting to move forward again.

Also mentioned now that this weird vibration not very hard vibration but still very similar also happens when cruisin at low speeds and low rpm. Especially when at low rpm or when releasing gas pedal from higher speeds and letting engine braking freerun.

Everything works fine tho. Seems that cooler bypass is made, or europeans come with separaete oil cooler.

Maybe anyone else had similar symptoms aswell? And cause?

What is the quality of your trans oil? I would start by checking trans and engine mounts.

Hi, first post, just bought a used 2006 Pathfinder to replace my totalled 4Runner. The dealer replaced the radiator because of a leak.Is this radiator/transmission thing going to affect this truck.

how much (on avg) does it cost to get trans oil flushed/filled? my wifes transmission is doing crazy shit. seems like it's slipping sometimes & even sticks on gear change some time.

have had bypass done for a while now. i think trans oil just needs to be changed. can these vehicles take a flush at a stealership or should i say i specifically want just a change & not a flush? not sure how much life i have on the trans anyway

I noticed that when i let loose the gas and cruising down from 70mph it starts t vibrate, when shifting to Neutral and givin throttle then issue seems to be RPM related, but somehow when i use the brake pedal vibration stops... and until braking no vibration at all and seems to be fine. ONLY WHEN ENGINE BRAKING. and i notice that when driving at same speed 70 mph, it is not constant little vibration but it gets greater when driving on uneven road and when car is hitting down with bigger force then it seems to be stronger (as car rocks up and down then on down side)

very weird...

Seems that this vibration/small rumble comes in more when engine fluids are warmed up.

Great diagnostics ability via forum!

Problem is rear tranny mount (quite broken)

Problem found and to be fixed. Thanks for good advice!

Hello, sorry to necro, but did a search on this forum and brought me to this post.

Basically, during thanksgiving roadtrip this year, after about 1600 miles of driving, I started getting a vibration in the drive train. As soon as I would let off the gas, it would go away. I took it to a local mechanic all scared after reading about the radiator problems on this forum.

He put it on the lift and told me my driveshaft u-joints were shot. I checked the fluid myself "from top" and all was well (I know not the best way), clear.

I had them replaced.

Still scared I did the radiator bypass yesterday. When I discoed the hoses, the fluid was not milky, only red, a bit dark. I had the transmission fluid replaced early this year.

I rode 325 miles today, another roadtrip. Towards the end of the roadtrip I started getting a rumble under the drivers side. Only from 70mph and up when accelarating or decelarating. A little under 2500rpm. At constant speed, it was smooth same with any driving under 60mph. I got here in the dark, so havent had a chance to check my tranny fluid again. The transmission did not slip during the city driving portion of hte trip at the end.

So, based on color of my fluid, am I okay or is it tranny? Do I need to check elsewhere? While under the truck everything appeared tight. I do some high pitch rattling like a loose heat shield but have not been able to find it.

It is an '05 SE 4x4 with 112k on it.

Thank you for any information you all may have.

Sounds like your trans fluid is fine.

As far as the heat shields, I used some hose clamps in areas where the original welded clamps had rusted away. Been good for 2 years so far.

Thank you. I guess I need to look at mounts, and/or maybe they buggered part of the driveshaft installation when they replaced the joints.
