New guy

Postby FatCyclist » Mon Mar 14, 2016 9:38 am

Just picked up an '07 SE with 43,000 miles this weekend.

Coming from an '03 F150 Supercrew FX4.

I'm already planning on the bypass this weekend. Also getting remote start and in dash DVD/backup camera installed this week.

The only issue I noticed on my 1400 mile drive home from the dealer, is a vibration in what feels like the driveline. Only happens at a specific rpm. Slow speeds and about 1000 rpm. I read something about a transmission mount???

Future plans include small lift and 33s and some bolt on engine mods.

Welcome
And about the vibration make sure the tires are balanced before you check drivetrain but start with u joints.

I'm pretty sure it's not the tires. I can make the vibration start and stop by pressing and releasing the throttle.

I'll check the U joints while I'm doing the rad bypass this weekend.

I actually have that same problem on my old 1955 GMC at high speeds but havnt narrowed it down. But if you get a dent on a driveshaft it usually gets unbalanced but since yours is newer i think its your U joints pretty positive.
Let us know what you find out.
