Canadian forest dweller

Tree fell (windstorm, not me) on my old Ford Exploder. Insurance gave me too little to replace it. Bought a 96' Pathfinder (100K miles) in good shape instead. It's a better vehicle - I can sense that. But it's smaller. I can sense that, too. Gonna put on a roof basket to help keep everything contained, I guess. Any recommendations?
I live way out in the remote toolies - way, way out. In fact, the truck is parked on an island. And I live on another one further out. I am going to have to get new tires. Need 'logging road' tough tires. Any recommendations?
