Hey all. I'm Brian from Tampa, I have a 99 QX4 and a 99 Pathy with QX4 swap. (see my posts) Awesome site. I'm a Master Technician and love to diagnose and share the knowledge because knowledge is power.

Glad to be here.

Well in the 2 days I've been here my Pathy trans kicked the bucket. 210k miles seen in it's long life. My Audi A6 also has a blown trans fluid pump and a month ago my Cabrio blew a hole in the Diff side of the transcase. Now we're down to 1 car, the 220k mile QX4. So we went and bought an '08 Odyssey last night for the wife and now I'm drivin the Q. Life changes fast. and I keep getting more projects. lol.

I most definitely will. I am gearing up for the swap of a lifetime heh. I have a Ford 429/C6 drive line from a 72 Galaxy 500. I been divisive on what to do with it, but now I think it's gonna go in the Pathy. It'll fit in the bay and the motor is carb'd and the A/C will mate with the line connectors soo it should be pretty straight forward. Motor mounts and exhaust and heavier springs for the weight are the biggest obstacles soo that'll be a challenge but the end will be one badass street truck. I'm really excited.

You must do this swap. You must give us details. Is that 429 the same as the BOSS motor from the Mustang?

Well the Pathy has nine (million) lives. The trans was a throttle position sensor. So it's doing just fine. I'm doing the Qx4 T-belt and W-pump, VCG's and intake gaskets, steering rack bushings, bellows boots and pressure lines, re-tinting the windows, and flushing the trans this weekend as we decided to sell it. So I'll throw up some pics of it maybe on Tues or so. I still may do the Pathy up with the 429 as that would be a helluva fun truck so I'll keep posting. I'm thinkin a full plexi roof would be really cool too. ...like in the new VW Tiguan. We'll see.
