Belt squeal HELP !

After 11 years and 142000 miles I finally replaced my two belts. The new OEM belts squeal no matter what. (old ones didn't) First i tried just tightening and then belt dressing more tightening. In the beginning it would just squeal for the first 5 or 6 minutes and then go away but always squealed when it was cold. Finally last night I did another tightening, maybe just a half turn, if that on the adjusting bolts. Now it squeals all the time. I went back and undid what I had just done. No help, still squeals all the way to work this morning. 35 minutes plus. never squealed that long before. HELP PLEASE
