Window Tint combinations

Postby porksoda » Sun Feb 08, 2015 11:14 pm

I am planning on tinting the windows on the Pathfinder here soon before the summer heat gets here. I am trying to think of a good combination of tint %'s.
Since my wife will be driving mainly with our daughter I was thinking of doing 20% on the front door windows and on the hatch window and 5% on the rear door and back side windows. I am mainly trying to make is easy for her visibly during the night time and dark enough so our baby isn't blinded in the back seat.

Also hopefully it'll help keep the car cool during the very hot summer.

20% front doors , 30% rear doors , 50% rear quarter windows and 20% rear gate glass.....visibility with protection. Also consider a 20% 3.5 inch strip across the top of the windshield to aid in sun glare protection.

the windows are already tinted
can you tint over that?
also, be sure to check what the law allows (or doesn't allow) in your state
there are legal limitations

You might look into 3M brand tint:

It will allow you to put a film over your factory tint that keeps the same tint level or go darker as well as help with heat reduction of the vehicle. I've heard great reviews of the product.
