I have a 1996 Pathfinder LE with a factory antitheft system and lost keyless entry. Was still able to start car with spare key and locking it with door lock engaged antitheft. Before I could arrange to drive over to local dealer to get new key fob programmed battery died with doors locked/antitheft engaged. After replacing battery still unable to start car with spare key as antitheft is now engaged (default over ride perhaps?)
Alarm just goes off until I disconnect battery. Spoke with somewhat lame service manager who started to ramble on about diagnosing what seems to me to be a factory default code which should be cleared with the new Keyless entry I am already paying for not to mention the towing cost so I don't need to be ripped of "diagnosing" the problem!!
ANY knowledgable help would be greatlt appreciated!
