Earlier this year when I started shopping for a new (or used) vehicle seriously, fuel economy of a vehicle was a concern for me. I know that some people might say you shouldn't buy an SUV if fuel economy was a concern. Well, I like SUV's functionalities, and my '01 Xterra served me very well for things I wanted to do. I still wanted to be able to drive around w/o worried about how much gas I'm using too much every time I drive. So, I looked for information...what kind of MPG current owners of Pathfinders, Xterras, and whatever others were getting. There were many threads about MPG. There were many web sites that were showing EPA rating for a particular vehicle. Then, I came across www.FuelEconomy.gov site. It shows EPA rating, and what kind of MPG users are getting from what type of driving (city vs. highway), which was a lot more realistic numbers I could find than...anywhere else.

After purchasing my '09, I started collecting all info needed to enter into this site (I already had a habit of recording my fill-up data; it was not a big change for me.)

I don't work for the site or anything. I just wanted to let people know more about this site, so that the data on the site will be more accurate and more people can benefit from it.
