88 PATHFINDER TRANS...DEAD OR JUST WOUNDED?

Postby DANJINFLA » Wed Oct 07, 2009 7:33 am

I was driving my PF up on-to ramps to do some work on her and heard a snap....felt a LiL shutter and Now ...NOTHING.... forward , backwards ....but will hold in Park.

Is this a Major failure or something that can be done / Testing without droping it out for R & R

Any info would be Cool Thanks

Big D

if the snap was heard from the rear could be an axle.

Is it auto? old auto's are kidna prone to over heating.
have you recently changed the trans fluid? if so and you or the people who did used gl5 your transmision is gone because the fluid disinigrated parts inside of it. You have to use gl4 in the trans and axles. hope thats not the case though bro.
