94 Pathfinder- Starter Issue

Postby fbsullivan » Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:20 am

94 Pathfinder: The oil sending unit pig tail was broken by a mechanic and will not stay attached. The problem is when it comes loose, the vehicle will not start due to a safety in the relay system somewhere. I have looked everywhere for a pigtail at salvage only to come up empty handed. Can the wire be cut and looped to fool the safety? If so does a resistor need to be wired in the loop. Please help, I need the vehicle running. The mechanic that did it is not standing behind his work and Nissan wants to sell me a complete harness for $1500.00

Thanks for the info. They seem very costly. Does anyone know if the loop will work? Should a risitor or inline fuse be wired if it works. Need Help
