Independent Nissan specialist mechanic shop in Houston Texas

Postby fat_fraz » Tue Jul 20, 2010 7:00 pm

Hi folks,

apologies if this is the wrong place to post this question, but i can't find any information on this by searching the existing posts...

I've just bought a 2006 Pathfinder SE, and there's a few things I'd like to get looked at. Before I had two kids I'd probably have had a go at all of it myself, but there you go. I'm now looking for an independent shop to do it for me at reasonable cost and looking for trusted suggestions.

Things that need doing:
- wheel bearing on the way out (front)
- squeaky fan belt needs tightening, will probably stick a new one on at the same time
- oil fuel filters etc

Also, looking for some suggestions on good mainly road-based tires. Its got two original Dueler's on the left hand side and two new Lehman Pathmaker's on the right. I was going to put both these on the rear and get two new fronts. Any obvious suggestions with a good price / wear balance?

Lastly, the basic stereo headunit has got to go. I'm looking at an integrated sat nav / bluetooth / Cd player and some new speakers, and I'm new to this country - any suggestions for this as well?

thanks for any suggestions offered.

all the best

Fraser

Thanks for the welcomes! Any ideas of sources of information for the Houston Texas area? Is there a regional resource page somewhere or something like that?

Anything on the tires choice etc?

Thanks!

Hey Fat_Fraz, Give Northwest car repair a call and ask for George. He's a really great guy with fair prices. He is also a cerftified Nissan tech and has been working on Nissan/Datsuns for a while. He did my 35k service on my 2005 Nissan pathfinder SE Off Road.

The shop is near 290 and 34 St. PH#713-956-1113
