hey guys,

got a 3.2L Isuzu Trooper 1998 with a tranny problem (or gearbox dont know)

sometimes the automatic gear slips (only for 3rd and 4th) and wont grip again unless u reduce ur speed till 2nd gear kicks in.

u can drive for days with no problems, and sometimes it just starts the minute you begin to drive.


the "check transs" light always comes on, and doesnt go away till u turn off the car then on.

OBDII scanner didnt show anything.


any advise ???
doesnt seem mechanical since sometimes it works perfectly with no issues.

try to ask some your local dealer about this issue. sorry but i only know is about nissan. i don't have any idea on isuzu repair

I don't know for sure, but the range sensor in those can cause issues. I would ask your question over at planetisuzoo, a pretty active forum with a lot of knowledgeable and helpful Isuzu enthusiasts.

thanks guys. this was last year, ended up replacing the whole gearbox
