No Jeep will ever be worth that much. I tried to configure one on their site, yet while asterisks are all over the place next to the word diesel, I couldn't find one in any of the builds I tried. I didn't really look that long, but I was curious about the price.disallow wrote: Damn thing is over $60k here in Canada.
Most likely because you're in the USA and disallow is in Canada. I've been familiar with the 3.0L CRD since Jeep put it in the previous model Grand Cherokee (WK model). I wanted one but for some reason, whether it's government related or sales projections, Jeep did not offer it in the US. Same thing in this case I presume.NVSteve wrote:No Jeep will ever be worth that much. Perhaps the WK2 (the new body style) is different but the WK (2005-10) was a MB powerplant and only available outside of the USA.disallow wrote:From the reading I've done, the new 3.0 CRD ois NOT an MB engine, and it is availble in the Limited model and above in the US.
Incorrect. 3.0 CRD MB diesel was available, at least here in Canada from 2006-2008.Zen_master wrote:Perhaps the WK2 (the new body style) is different but the WK (2005-10) was a MB powerplant and only available outside of the USA.disallow wrote:From the reading I've done, the new 3.0 CRD ois NOT an MB engine, and it is availble in the Limited model and above in the US.
Maybe the new diesel is a Fiat product? Any word on this?
What is incorrect, the Fiat guess or the Daimler-Benz manufactured power plant in the WK model?disallow wrote:Incorrect.

The new 3.0L CRD is from VM Motori which is an Italian engine maker owned 50% by Fiat and 50% by GM.
That the MB diesel wasn't available in the US. It was in 07 and 08.Zen_master wrote:What is incorrect, the Fiat guess or the Daimler-Benz manufactured power plant in the WK model?disallow wrote:Incorrect. 3.0 CRD MB diesel was available, at least here in Canada from 2006-2008.Zen_master wrote: Perhaps the WK2 (the new body style) is different but the WK (2005-10) was a MB powerplant and only available outside of the USA.
