The Nissan Path

The old thread on the Navigation Docking Station is pretty old now and primarily deals with the Garmin 750 model that this dock was originally designed for.
It seems the Garmin 7xx series has been discontinued now so I was wondering what else could be used.

Has anyone successfully fitted any newer updated model GPS units into the dock?
Those that have used this mount, other than obvious size restraints, what are some of the things that you may have to watch out for when trying to modify it to for other units?
Things like power hookups, cable running, antennas, unit mounts themselves, etc.
BTW – The Garmin 750 measures 4.8"W x 3.0"H x .8"D (12.2 x 7.6 x 2.0 cm)

I personally would like something with voice recognition like the Garmin 8xx series.
So far the only interference problem I see is that the power chord attaches to the side rather than from the back like the 7xx series.

Advice or comments anyone?

The mount should work just fine... The 700 series should still be availible on line or from Nissan parts........... Triffid

Here is a link to the docking station. It mentions available for Xterra, Frontier, and Pathfinder (2005-2008).
You might shoot them an email and confirm it will fit with your particular dash layout.

There are other threads about it. Do a search using keywords, docking, dock, etc

I ordered one for my 05 LE from the link above. It should be here any day now.
I am going to take it around to some places that sell GPS and see what I can get to fit.
I would like something a little more updated and with voice recognition.
I’ll update the thread later with what I find.

its pretty straight forward... if you have a coin tray above your radio, then you can use the add-on nav. if you have a radio with a display screen, then you can not, because there is no room above the radio/screen.

I am looking for buying a dock for my GPS system. I have googled for that one I liked was Archos GPS in-car. Is there anyone used it?? I would like to have review on it.
