XM Radio

Postby zeb1026 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 5:31 pm

Hey y'all...

Just got a Navy Blue 2010 4X4 Pathfinder SE (No journey package).

Brochure says it is "pre-wired" for XM radio. What does this mean?

Can i buy a "part" and then have XM integrated into the current radio display screen?

I had XM in my old Truck for the last 5 years... I'm SERIOUSLY missing it!!!

Thanks

XM

Congrats...I just bought a 2010 LE this week.

On the XM, the PF is pre-wired at the factory for XM meaning they can install the rest of the XM package easily at the dealership. It will cost you to have them do it. But hey won't have to start from scratch. We bought an '05 Murano new and it was pre-wired. They had to put the XM antenna on the roof and a little more I suppose but we picked it up the next day. We rolled the "finished" XM into the deal.

Need your XM

Also, i bought a used BMW a few years back and it had no satellite wiring at all. I bought an XM box for it I put in the trunk that allowed me to receive XM through the dash. I had to put the external antenna on. No big deal. It worked great, plug and play. A guy on a BMW forum told me about it but I can't remember the details. I would check on line. But since your PF is pre-wired I would let the dealer finish the job. Probably same cost as buying a separate part plus it would be better on re-sale of your PF.
