Postby starbuck61 » Sat Sep 08, 2012 7:41 am

I am looking at replacing my stereo in my 07 SE with something else. Any recommendations?

If you are going to upgrade the deck, then it's a waste of money if you don't upgrade the factory speakers, as well. I highly recommend Crutchfield.com. I've purchased many decks and speakers from them for over a decade. Their prices are fair, but their service and selection are terrific! They provide you with free install intructions, lifetime tech support and adapter harnesses for the deck and speakers to make install a breeze! Their site lets you know what will and will not fit your vehicle, as well.

I'm for Pioneer as well... I ended up with the AVH-3300BT (bluetooth) edition. As for speakers, it depends... If you're going to amp them, I vote for Boston Acoustics or Alpine. If you're not amping (I didn't), then I recommend Infinity as they typically have a higher sensitivity ratio.

I have the Kenwood 9980HD. All in all, I wouldn't have gone any other way. The 9990HD is even better. In a nutshell, good audio performance for the Kenwood brand coupled with Garmin Navigation and Parrot Bluetooth. The interface of my unit isn't the fastest, but the follow on supposedly corrects this. All of my steering wheel controls work with the Kenwood. I like Pioneer too, it was my third choice when I finished my deliberations... behind the Alpine.
