Did Some Snow, Slush, Mud Wheeling Last Weekend

Postby richardekirby » Mon Feb 14, 2011 4:01 pm

Some friends and I went up to Oklahoma last weekend to do some wheeling. Luckily they had gotten more snow than we did here in DFW last week and also had colder temps, so their snow stuck around longer. We got there late Friday night and the roads were frozen solid. I ended up having to pull my friends 2wd Tundra up an icy hill to get to the cabin. Saturday morning everything was still frozen when we started out. We were busting thru water/mud holes that had 3 or 4 inches of ice on them. As the day went on, it warmed up to the lower 60's and everything turned to slush and mud. Unfortunately, my buddy with the black YJ got the flu and was not able to make the trip. On the trail it was just my R51 and my friends Jeep Grand Cherokee. We had a lot of fun getting our trucks thru some difficult terrain. I also shot some video, but it's going to take me a little time to get it ready to post.

We were about 50 miles east of McAlester near a small town called McCurtain. It is in the eastern part of the state.
