Desert rains in Joshua Tree National Park

Second off-road trip in 2 weeks, I'm exhausted but the Pathfinder is just itching for more. This time I hit Joshua Tree for some gold mine exploration with the kids, and we got more than we hoped for with a good dose of rain to spice things up. The smell of rain in the desert is something incredible and hard to describe, a spicy sweet mix of sage and vegetation mixed with dust and granite powder... The trails were rocky and long and slow, but no seriously challenging wheel-in-the-air moments.

Nice pics. What locations are the old ruins, the cabin & the mills? I've been to Wall Street Mill on a photo shoot but I'd like to know where these other places are. I'm thinking of heading to Joshua Tree in April & would love to see these cool places. Names or GPS coordinates are fine. Thnx.

I use Tom Harrison's off-road maps: http://www.tomharrisonmaps.com/

In order, we hit the Duplex, Rose of Peru, Brooklyn, Gold Rose, OK, and finally Virginia Dale mines. I'll location tag the pics so you can see exactly where they are.
