New shocks and struts

One of my front struts is leaking fluid and I'm getting a lot of roll and bouncing when I hit bumps in the road. I installed the Air lift 1000 on it right after I bought it earlier in the year. Just ordered the Monroe Quick-struts for the front and Bilstein HD for the rear of my 2012 S model 4x4.

Look forward to hearing how you like the Monroe Quickstruts. I'd like to do the shocks and struts on mine too. Debating which brand to go with.

For a stock suspension, the Bilstein HD are hard to beat. For the front, the stock units really aren't that bad, which are made by KYB. So, if you are just replacing the strut in the front, KYB GR2/Excels are the way to go. If you want to replace the whole strut assy. with coil spring, KYB doesn't offer anything, so Monroe Quickstrut is the way to go.

Replacing the whole assembly on the front so going with the quick struts. Do I need to get an alignment after replacing the front?

Technically, you shouldn't, but some have reported that the quick struts have raised the height of their front end anywhere from 0.5-1.0 inch, which could affect the alignment slightly. If it hasn't been aligned in the last year or more, it probably would be a good idea. For whatever reason, it seems a lot of these vehicles have a tendency to have the camber/caster go out of spec at the left-front. If you haven't had them installed, already, don't be surprised if you'll need a caster/camber kit installed in the front.

Changed the shocks and struts today. WOW what a difference new shocks make.
