Front End Squeak

Postby dell30rb » Thu Dec 13, 2012 3:41 pm

Have a bone stock 08 pathfinder S 4x4

Got a front end squeak when driving on any light bumps. Not related to the suspension travel necessarily, its more of a chirp/rattle. Does not happen when going over larger bumps, like speed bumps.

Any ideas? Also, can anyone point me to a resource that might have all the TSB's for these.

Thanks

try putting some electrical tape on your hood latch (D shaped bar on the under side) and see if that resolves it.

Thanks. I didn't do a very good search before I posted this and I came on another front end squeak thread.

I just bought the car today. I sprayed some WD 40 on the hood latch just to see if that did anything. Regardless if that fixed it or not, I will grease the latch tomorrow. Will try the electrical tape if grease does no good.

Electrical tape, as others suggested. This pissed me off for a few years.

I have this as well, but its more of a chirpy squeak from the right front. over light bumps.

Did you try the tape fix? Yours sounds exactly like mine...and it indeed was the hood latch.
