Where to source boot for UCA ball joint

Postby BattleWagon » Thu Apr 04, 2013 7:11 am

I ruined mine when installing my 5100s, I called the dealership and they said I had to buy the whole UCA for $150.

The boot comes off easy, simple rubber piece. There has to be a cheaper solution.

Thanks!

Buy a cheap whitebox BJ, for $10. Take the boot, cut it, and wrap around your Upper BJ as best you can. Then slop on the silicone sealant.

It'll probably look like hell though, but if it keeps the dirt and grime from getting in, and the grease from getting out, you should be good to go.

Have you called your local auto parts store? You used to be able to get these through Dorman's "HELP!" line, IIRC. Energy Suspension sells them for $8/set in polyurethane if you got the time to wait and order them.

I was looking at these and thinking they might work, although they are not listed for Nissan:
