body lift with existing suspension lift?

Postby iheartmypathy » Sun Sep 15, 2013 11:48 pm

Is this possible? I currently have the Rancho susp lift installed... would I be able to use the PRG mini lift on top of this? Or is it too much stacking of spacers?

http://www.prgproducts.com/shop/product ... _mini_kit/

If this wouldnt work, is my only option for more lift getting UCAs/extended coilovers?

Thanks guys :)

the prg isnt a body lift. thats a suspension spacer. 4x4parts.com is the only place that i know of that sells body lifts for the r51. and yes you can do both thats how my pathfinder is.
this is the only body lift that i know of

and heres what mine looks like with the rancho quicklift and a body lift

Ah ok gotcha. No go using the PRG kit with a suspension lift?

I followed your post, and def want more height... but I think for a DD it's gonna kill my gas mileage going with the 3". That, and I think my 33"s may look too small going that tall! :)

Ahhh decisions, decisions!

the height doesnt kill mileage so much as the tires do. mine weigh a ton. adding the bully dog helped but now that i have some power back i cant keep my foot out of the gas.

my tires arent much over 33" but the problem becomes turning. the body lift helped me with clearance for turning, but i dont think i could go much bigger without cutting the rear fenders or going taller.

no issues. the 2nd body mounts from the front were fun to get off and get tight. i would recommend if your doing it to first lower your power steering bottle cause the hose popped off the pump while i was driving and i lost power steering but that was my fault.

Does anyone have a body lift and still able to tow. If so what did you do?

I have the lift I just don't tow often. Tbe instructions say to get the bracket welded to the frame.

patience is a good thing to have. install wasnt bad. the directions are so so. i know one thing that i had to do was take the power steering bottle out of its holder before doing the lift. breaker bar also helps for install. red loctite is also recommended for the body bolts. you might also want some 2x4s cause my jack wasnt tall enough by itself to lift the pathy enough for the install.
