rear suspension question

Postby DiBo » Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:08 pm

So I have a 2006 with 285/75/16 on it. Everything else is stock including all the suspension. Sometimes I get a bit of a speed wobble on the highway and I may leave some stars in my underwear.

I am planning on purchasing the PRG Mini lift kit. I am also planning on getting the Airlift 1000 because I tow with it.

I was wondering which shocks would be the best for the front and the rear to get better handling (loose the death wobble) and work with the PRG Mini Lift kit. it adds 2"

and I don't have any rubbing issues.

Thanks

You might keep it simple to start and have a GOOD alignment shop take a look at that. Mine gets jumpy (stock suspension) if the alignment is out. I'm sure it would be even worse with a non-stock setup.

seems like it will rock side to side when on the hwy after hitting a bump, take a bit of effort to get it to stop. could airlift 1000 help with that?

A little bit, but not as much as you'd think. Dampers (shocks) are supposed to ensure "one bounce" and no more; as they age or if they suck the system is underdamped and you get several bounces before the system returns to equilibrium.

My Bilstein rear shocks are great but they have about 30K miles on them and I'm starting to get this behavior as well. Time for new ones for me...

I have bilsteins on my xterra and love em. I was just wondering what ones would best suit a 2" lift?
