fast idle after start

fast idle after start

Is there a way to diasble the fast idle after startup..

its annoying and reving a cold engine like that just doesn't seem kosher!!

Perfectly normal. High idle after start-up helps the pre cats lower emissions at a faster rate.

Also, our clutch assemblies/fans take a few minutes to warm up and quiet down.

If there's not enough oil pressure to adequately protect at high idle....you have bigger issues. It's not that high in the scheme of things....realize you turn 2k rpm just rolling along on the highway.

there's not a problem.. at least not anything other than my annoyance at it...

I just replaced the entire timing chain system on the front end along with the belt and pulleys..

and now that there ISN"T any noise, (ugh how that that freakin tensioner pulley used to scqueal for a few seconds.....) the dam thing revving up like that just seems all the more wasteful.
