Does a 2010 still need the transmission cooler bypass?

Possibly purchasing a 2010 SE V6 today. I'm not sure what years this problem with radiator was specific to - should I still consider the bypass? I will be towing so would probably want a second cooler installed if so. Lastly, would you get a private mechanic to inspect a certified 2010 before purchasing?

2005-2010 were the years affected, so, I guess the answer would be "yes." If you are going to be towing, I would recommend you replace the radiator rather than bypass it; aftermarket radiators are relatively inexpensive, running in the $74-$150 range, depending on brand. I recommend any used vehicle considered for purchase should be inspected by a mechanic of the potential buyer's choice, unless that person has the experience and knowledge to do so for himself or they know the previous history of the vehicle.
