Did towing company damage my truck??

Postby pathypurr » Fri Apr 04, 2014 9:53 am

the other day I was towed for apparently parking in a residents spot at an apartment complex. I pulled the pathy in forward. went in my friends house for about 15 minutes and when I came out it was gone. anyway once I get there to pick it up they pull up in a regular tow truck. NOT A FLAT BED. was the transfer case or transmission damaged? I didn't see if the front wheels or back wheels were off the ground because it had already been parked in the impound lot once i got there

Any info helps as I will be suing the tow company for a couple other things and I want to be sure NO damage what so ever was done to the truck.

nissan recommends in the owners manual to tow with the front wheels on the ground or on a flat bed. this is right from the owners manual

this is for 2wd
Never tow automatic transmission
models with the rear wheels on the
ground or four wheels on the ground
(forward or backward), as this may
cause serious and expensive damage to
the transmission. If it is necessary to
tow the vehicle with the front wheels
raised always use towing dollies under
the rear wheels.

this is for 4wd
Never tow 4WD models with any of the
wheels on the ground as this may cause
serious and expensive damage to the
transfer case and transmission
