Seafoam how-to?

Postby porksoda » Sun May 25, 2014 8:55 am

I was wondering if anyone has a write-up on how to do the whole seafoam thing to our 4.0L engines?
I see videos on YouTube how to do it, but just checking on here to see if there is anything special needed to be done on our engines.

Thanks!

Nope nothing special. Detach brake booster vacuum hose and suck the Sea foam up through that. Suck in 1/2 the can a little at a time, then stall the engine by putting the hose in all the way into the can. You'll have about 1/3 of the can left. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes, reassemble the brake booster line. Put the 1/3 of a can into the gas tank. When you start it up 20-30 min later, be prepared for a lot of black smoke. Drive aggressively until the smoke is gone.
