Oil in spark plug tube

Postby 05 pathy » Sun Jul 20, 2014 9:33 pm

I changed the spark plugs and the tube that's in the passenger rear of the engine is full of oil. I tried looking at courtesy nissan's site to order gaskets, but got a little confused. Does someone know exactly what to order to fix this issue?

There is no seal to order. You have to order new valve covers.

Our valve covers are plastic, and can deform a bit over time. The new covers come with new rubber seals embedded in them.

I bought new covers, but have never gotten around to swapping them out. I modified my shopvac using a small tube and some duct tape to suck the oil out of the tube. Since then, it doesn't seem to have leaked anymore. Not sure why, but maybe because I switched to synthetic oil?
