P0057 Code. P0057 HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low B2S2

Postby coryhynes » Wed Nov 12, 2014 11:14 am

HI,
Recently, I had my Frt. D/S Cat. convertor replaced and now today I got an engine code for P0057. Which is P0057 HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low B2S2.
Does anyone know what this means? How to fix it? Do I replace the 02 sensor?

Help

thanks,
Cory

The oxygen sensors have built-in heater elements to heat-up the sensors. Assuming they didn't damage the wires or bend a pin in the harness connector when they replaced the catalytic converter, you likely have a broken heater element in the sensor, meaning you would need to replace the sensor, itself. B2S2 would be the rear sensor on the left, or driver's side. It would be NTK oxygen sensor #24244. I prefer to stick with NTK as they are the OEM manufacturer of Nissan sensors, but Denso is pretty good, too. I usually get them from Rockauto.com as their prices are usually the lowest.

From Service Manual:

Possible cause (P0057):
- Harness or connectors (The heated oxygen sensor 2 heater circuit is
open or shorted.)
- Heater oxygen sensor 2 heater

You can also check in Service Manual, which I released to the public here:
