4x4 engagement?

Postby Kestral » Wed Nov 26, 2014 8:54 am

Ok so I'm a little confused (does not take much) anyway I could not find what I was looking for on this in the manual. If I am parked in my garage and not in 4x4 and there is two feet of snow in my driveway what is the proper way to put the Pathy in 4x4? I know if on the road doing under 40 mph I just turn the 4x4 knob and it goes in but what if I am stopped and want it in 4hi do I have to put the truck in "N" first then shift to 4x4 HI or no? I know you have to do this for 4x4 low but what about 4x4 HI when not moving? By the way my Pathy is a 2012 (S) model with the basic 4x4 transfer case.

You can flip it to 4hi while stopped and it will engage as soon as you move. Works in reverse or forward. The only time you need neutral is for 4lo.
