Idle RPM

Postby Kestral » Sat Jan 10, 2015 12:36 pm

Is it possible to have the idle RPM increased just a little? My 2012 v6 seems to idle rough and when I just place my foot on the gas just a touch it seems to idele much better.

I'd run some sea foam through it.

Idle adjustment can be "tweaked" a little, but you need a scan tool to do it.

Or you can adjust to any RPM with an Uprev Tuner. 1 of my 5 tunes in the ECU is Theft tune.
Its set at 500rpm Idle. As soon as you turn on the engine,it acts like you ran out of fuel and engine shuts off.

I think there's a few threads about the rough idle and a consensus that it is just "one of those things". Mine has done it sometimes and not others since new, maybe it correlates with the AC coming on and off with the temp on auto, but I'm not sure about that. I don't think it's fuel source since it doesn't happen consistently on one tank versus another. The difference, I agree, is tiny, like 100 rpm. I've learned to ignore it.

I think I will just ignore it as it runs so darn good other then that.
