Postby lebanesepathy » Sun Feb 15, 2015 3:25 am

Hi guys, i've noticed this noise that comes up at 2000 rpm. Found this but it says it's for 2005 only.

Not sure. You are hearing it from the engine compartment?

I get various rattles and chatter from what seems like the glove box area on my 2011 LE V8. Problem is, I've removed everything from the glove box so I'm left baffled by what it could be b

No i'm sure its from the engine. Regarding you're it may be related to the a/c, when changing the flow mode it might get stuck and start making noise, or when you allow/prevent air from the outside it makes a noise if the system has something wrong. Or simply you might have something stuck in there like a screw.
Edit: regarding your problem

I've got one too that happens around 1500-2k rpms. Mine sounds tinny almost like some kind of heat shield or something. Is that how yours sounds too?

I'll probably have it looked at someday.

Mine too.

Keep us posted on your findings. Hopefully someone here can chime in as well.

I'll keep everyone here posted with what is found on mine once I get it looked at.

In my truck the cable coming off the shifter assembly in the center console was vibrating against a hole in a metal bracket is runs through. It was nearly a year before I found it...it's now got lots of foam stuffed around it.

There's also the "power intake valve" in the manifold, there's a TSB out for that one.

I've had to band over nearly all of my heat shield clamps...

I had the same between 2-2200 rpm. There is a tsb on the early ones for the power valve rattling. It did not pertain to my model year but did the fix anyway. Now the noise is gone. It did sound almost like a heat shield rattle.

Do you have the bulletin number for the power valve? I thing my 08 is doing that too, along with the t-chains, a heater core, etc...

Mine sounds like valvetrain clatter or bad spark knock, around 2000-2600 rmps under light accel or load. After doing the research and the math...The 3M Scotch weld sealant for the TSB is $20-25, then you need the special gun and mixing tube, etc...A new valve on courtesy Nissan is like $40 brand new. no muss, no fuss. I'm gonna buy a new one and be done.

Got my rattle fixed yesterday and it ended up being the cat heat shield.

I've had a similar problem on my diesel model. It was the pipes clipped to the firewall - the clips were broken and the pipes were rattling.
