so last night i ran the electrical tests as suggested and checked all grounds per the maual etc. still no resolution. i decided to leave the battery disconnected overnight. when i started this morning i could tell a differnce, that it was running better. i drove a few miles and everyting was fine. i came home and checked with the noid light and there was pulse. i told my wife to drive it a few places today close to the house. she drove for a bit and all seemed fine. she turned car off and stopped for a while. when she went to restart it was a rough start and soon enough the ses light came back on (after about 12-13 miles total) took it for a read and of course same 0302 and noid light no longer working. is this pointing at the ground as suggested above? though when tested it appeared the same as the #4 when compared in every way. the more i do, the more confused i become!

just a thought - are your battery, cables, and cable clamps in nothing less than excellent shape?

yeah, those look good. everything electrical checks out including the ground. i swapped the injector connectors for #2 and #4 and the injector in #2 worked fine. the code did chase the connector to #4 when swapped with the #2 connector. is this telling me it is the ecm?

If you tested the wire between the injector and the ECM and it was good, it sounds like the driver inside the ECMis intermittently failing, meaning a faulty ECM.

For new, Nissan parts, I use 1stAAANissanParts.com. For used parts, try Car-part.com. Another option is to send your original unit out for repair; for that, I would contact the folks at http://circuitboardmedics.com/nissan/

does the part # have to match exactly to fit? the one in my vehicle reads 7 z MEC80-470 B1 5Y10. the used replacement i ordered is identical, with the exception of the last 4 digits. am i going to have any problems here?
