ECM replacement

Postby jbea0064 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 6:10 pm

i need to replace my ECM in my 06 LE pathfinder. i tracked down a used one. Does anyone know if the part # must match every digit? the one from my car reads:

7 z MEC80-470 B1 5Y10

the replacement i have ordered read identical, except for the last 4 digits. anyone know if this will work for me, or will it throw codes on me? does it have to be programmed? Thank you for any help

I'm fairly certain it has to be from the same model year. SMJ will be able to add more to this I'm sure, I don't have any depth here.

The ECMs are programmable. I would have a Nissan dealer look up the correct ECM software for you vehicle on ASIST and reprogram the replacement ECM accordingly.
