Lubribating the Propeller Shaft?

Postby Ride2Live » Thu Sep 25, 2008 8:26 am

It says in the shop manual that the propeller shaft / drive shaft should be lubricated every so many miles or after submersion in water?

Has anyone done their yet and what exactly do you lubricate? What do you use for lubricant?

I couldn't find anything in the manual.

Thanks

I know I saw it somewhere, thought it was the shop manual.

There are no fittings on 2005 and up.

Up to 2004 PF's had serviceable u-joints, if you want serviceable you would have to change the front and rear drive shaft u-joints to the type that have grease fittings.

As seems to be the trend -- I just had my drive shaft/ujoints/prop shafts replaced under the powertrain warrenty at 47500 miles.

I was getting a low bass sounding vibration between 42-50 mph...this fixed it.
