Transmission [31705] CONTROL VALVE ASSY

Postby nickCR » Thu Jun 04, 2015 4:29 pm

Hello All,

My Pathfinder with 131,000 KM's went into limp mode on Monday. I had to drive about 300km to get to the dealership but I did so with as little slippage in the tranny as possible.

It threw 3 codes at Nissan:

p0744
p1757
p1759

It took the dealership 4 days to figure out the issue and today confirmed that it's the 31705-3DX9E Control Valve Assy.

I need to replace this part but it doesn't show up in the part finders.

This is the VIN report for my truck.

The mechanic mentioned that I should be careful because my pathfinder is made in Europe not the US so it has the manual shifting option.

What can I do? The dealership wants almost $2,000 for that part and it's like $800 online for the US version.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

In doing some really deep digging I found this:

http://www.partsbase.org/nissan/pathfin ... wer-train/

That recommends part number:

31705-EC10B which says the newer version is: 31705-EC10C

Seems that 31705-EC10C is the right one, but I'm not 100%. Anyone else have any knowledge/experience with this that wants to chime in?

Update: I called a few US based parts stores and none of them have the part I need for my truck. I finally found https://partsouq.com where I entered my VIN and it provided the exact scematics for my truck. Got the part number and they themselves sell it and ship from UAE. Shipping is $168 for this part but it's like 40lbs and going out with DHL.

I guess they didn't make a 5 speed auto triptronic for the states?

are you outside of north america?

Most of the issue we've been having here has to do with the failed cooler in the rad, which grenades the transmission. Haven't seen much in regards to the actual valve body having issues.

Well technically Costa Rica is part of North America. My pathfinder is a V6 from the local dealership and it was made in Spain and comes with a 5 speed auto/tiptronic transmission.

The valve body was in fact the problem. The order arrived in Costa Rica from UAE in like 4 days and took them half a day to install it at the dealership. Had my truck back on the road in less than 2 weeks ( took me a week to track down the right part and 5 days to get it and install it ). The guys at the shop couldn't believe the turn around time was so fast.

Anyway I got the truck back on the road and things are good.
