Foamy Powersteering fluid

Postby HoneyMonster256 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:35 pm

So I have been noticing an oil leak lately and I figured it might have been the oil sending unit but I heard my power steering moaning today so I looked in the fluid reservoir and found it very foamy

So I think I have air getting into the system, Could it be a Pressure line?

Any ideas or advice?

Best thing to do is pinpoint the leak. I would doubt that you would suck air on the pressure side. but perhaps on the suction side. Running the fluid low and/or contaminated fluid (from someone putting something other than P/S fluid in it) can make it foamy.

Well I checked this morning and the fluid was normal again. I'm gonna try and pinpoint the leak after I figure out my CAT code issue

so i did some checking over the weekend and looks like its either leaking from the high pressure line or from the steering rack itself. there are a couple of rubber looking rings that are either purposely split or cut do you know what they are???
