Oil guage spastic question

Postby iMehrab » Wed Feb 03, 2016 10:09 pm

Hi all, so with my father giving me his pathfinder. Which i love it came with the oil guage pinned on H. I did my research and got a brand new one from the nissan dealership. I put it in myself being careful not to tighten it so much. I drove around and no leaks but the guage is low when im stopped and perfectly in the middle when im driving. So i thought i should tighten it more since it wasnt nearly close to flush. So i did and it is still doing the same thing. Any answers would be much appreciated.

Wouldn't worry about it. Mine is aftermarket, and it actually turns on the oil light when I'm at idle. I've checked the pressure with an independent gauge, and it is normal. I wouldn't worry.

may be a defective sending unit (even a new part can be faulty), or the incorrect part for your year & model
still have the receipt & packaging?
what is the part number?
what year is your truck?

thanks for the info

im pretty sure the part I purchased ( from Nissan dealer ) is 25070-CDOOA

my truck is a 2005 Nissan pathfinder LE V6.

i'm wondering could this be my oil pump going out? or just bad sensors?

pretty sure? no receipt? no package? nothing?
that part number is for a 2007
wrong part (as I suggested might be the problem in my post above)

If that was the case it wouldn't even plug in. 2006 a before was 3 pin, 2007+ is 2 pin, totally different connector.

Honestly I threw away the package as I did this last week and I remember the part number starting with an NA ...

I called in the same dealership yesterday and asked what the part number was and that's what they provided me.. if I hope I can find the packaging as obviously the part guy at the dealership doesn't know what he's talking about.
