has it had the ECM relay recall repair done?car_bore wrote:Hey Guys,
My car suddenly died on me at a stop sign. Nothing felt wrong or weird prior to that. I turned everything off, put it in park and started again like nothing happened. No warning lights, no weird noise, nothing. And it has been two days now since that happened. Now I'm worried it might happen again.
Please help, any inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks!

yes, a relay in the ECM is prone to failurecar_bore wrote:No recall repair has been done as far as I know. Was there a problem on ECM's before?eieio wrote:has it had the ECM relay recall repair done?car_bore wrote:Hey Guys,

Just checked the website. It shows there are 0 recalls for my VIN. But a little digging shows that there was an IPDM recall last 2010. Now I'm wondering if I'm still covered by that recall, and if there's still parts for it. It says the replacement should be free of charge.eieio wrote:yes, a relay in the ECM is prone to failurecar_bore wrote:No recall repair has been done as far as I know. it may be related to your problem, maybe not, just a thought
you can check your recall status here with your VIN, or through Nissan:

any outstanding recall should show up (recall campaigns never expire)car_bore wrote:Just checked the website. It shows there are 0 recalls for my VIN. Any thoughts?
You may have to wait for it to happen again. I had the same issue.car_bore wrote:Hi disallow, no codes were throne. Just had a mechanic check using an obd device.disallow wrote:Mine did that when the crank position sensor went bad. There was a code thrown. Check for the ses light.
Sorry, I meant "thrown".disallow wrote:You may have to wait for it to happen again. I had the same issue.car_bore wrote:Hi disallow, no codes were throne. You could do the crank and cam sensors, they are known to go bad at this age. But that would be more of the 'shotgun' approach than I'd normally like...
